Africa Tourism Expo 2025 – to Africa’s Premier Travel Gathering, to be hosted in Kampala

Africa Expo

Africa’s tourism industry will take center stage as Kampala, Uganda prepares to host the Africa Tourism Expo (ATEx) 2025. Scheduled for 23rd to 25th October, this landmark event will be held at the scenic Speke Resort & Convention Centre, Munyonyo, located along the shores of Lake Victoria. The event promises to be a grand showcase of Africa’s travel potential, bringing together industry leaders, global travel professionals, tour operators, hoteliers, and tourism innovators from across the globe.

The Expo aims to highlight Africa’s remarkable diversity, offering a platform to experience the continent’s unique cultures, majestic landscapes, iconic wildlife, and exceptional hospitality. More than a travel event, ATEx 2025 is designed to foster meaningful collaborations, share knowledge, and promote opportunities across Africa’s rapidly growing tourism sector.

A strong emphasis will be placed on critical issues such as sustainable tourism, digital innovation, investment opportunities, and regional integration. Through engaging workshops, insightful keynote sessions, and interactive seminars, participants will gain deep insights into current tourism trends and practical strategies for long-term success. These sessions will be led by some of the most influential voices in global and African tourism.

Sustainability will be a core theme throughout the expo. ATEx is proudly rooted in Namibia and positions itself as the continent’s first eco-conscious tourism event. It will spotlight environmentally friendly tourism solutions, including eco-lodging, wildlife conservation initiatives, and community-based tourism projects. Exhibitors will also share actionable ideas on how businesses can reduce their environmental footprint while enhancing the visitor experience.

Workforce development is another key focus. The expo will feature tailored training sessions aimed at upskilling professionals in areas such as customer service, digital literacy, and leadership development. Special roundtable discussions will address gender inclusivity in tourism, providing women with the tools and support they need to excel in the industry. By investing in human capital, ATEx is helping to build a skilled and globally competitive African tourism workforce.

Visitors can also expect an immersive cultural journey. The event will feature live performances, culinary demonstrations, and traditional exhibits that highlight Africa’s rich heritage and artistic expression. These cultural experiences are designed not only to entertain, but also to foster understanding and appreciation of the continent’s vibrant traditions.

In addition, the Expo will offer numerous networking opportunities and B2B meetings, allowing attendees to forge valuable connections, explore partnerships, and discuss future projects. These interactions are essential to advancing economic development and technological progress in Africa’s tourism landscape.

For Uganda, hosting the Africa Tourism Expo is a significant milestone. Widely regarded as the “Pearl of Africa,” the country is home to world-renowned attractions such as the mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the thrilling white-water rapids of the Nile River, and a vast network of national parks and cultural heritage sites. This event places Uganda in the spotlight as a leading travel destination and underscores its central role in Africa’s tourism resurgence.

ATEx 2025 is expected to draw record participation from Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, and beyond. The diverse mix of delegates, from government officials and investors to travel bloggers and entrepreneurs, illustrates the event’s global reach and growing influence.

More than just a tourism exhibition, the Africa Tourism Expo is a call to action. It is an invitation to rethink tourism in Africa, focusing on sustainability, equity, and global impact. Industry leaders, policymakers, and tourism stakeholders will be challenged to act, innovate, and contribute to a brighter, more resilient future for African travel.

As we count down the days, excitement continues to build. Join us in Kampala this October to explore, connect, and be part of shaping a new era for tourism across Africa.
