Excitement is soaring as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) made a bold move by boosting the Prize Money for the triumphant team at the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire this month. In a jaw-dropping increase of 40%, the victorious squad at AFCON 2023 will now be crowned with a remarkable USD 7,000,000.
This substantial raise not only adds a thrilling twist to the competition but also underscores CAF’s commitment to elevating the prestige of the tournament and motivating top-tier performances on the African football stage. As the football fever intensifies, teams vying for the title are gearing up for a showdown like never before.
The runner-up won’t be walking away empty-handed either, as their prize money sees an impressive surge to USD 4,000,000. This move by CAF showcases a dedication to recognizing and rewarding excellence throughout the competition, ensuring that every team’s efforts are duly acknowledged.
