According to recent reports from the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), the Karuma bridge will be inaccessible to lorries, trailers, and buses, prompting travelers to consider alternative routes with one option leading through the captivating Murchison Falls National Park.

Managed by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), the park is not just a haven for wildlife but also a crucial passage for travelers. New guidelines have been set hence forth by the UWA to ensure a seamless and responsible journey through this park.

Before embarking on your journey, it’s essential to note that all vehicles, except those restricted from using the Karuma bridge, will be subject to an entrance fee. Park hours are strictly observed from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with no exceptions made. Additionally, travelers are advised to adhere to the designated speed limit of 40 Km/h within the park premises to ensure the safety of both visitors and wildlife.

Littering within the park is strictly prohibited, and bus operators are urged to educate passengers on the importance of maintaining cleanliness. Failure to prevent littering may result in penalties imposed on operators. To minimize disturbance to wildlife, unnecessary stops within the park are prohibited, except for emergency situations.

Furthermore, all vehicles, except authorized tourist vehicles, must stay on the designated Kichumbanyobo – Tangi road. Unauthorized diversions will be penalized accordingly. Visitors are also reminded that hooting and feeding animals within the park are strictly prohibited to preserve the natural beauty and biodiversity of Murchison Falls National Park.

Therefore, as you embark on your journey through Murchison Falls National Park, kindly observe the set guidelines so as to preserve the park’s beauty for future generations.
