The much-anticipated 13th edition of Miss Tourism Uganda has officially been launched, marking the beginning of a nationwide search for the country’s next cultural ambassador. The announcement was made at the Uganda Media Centre, setting the stage for a competition that not only highlights beauty but also celebrates Uganda’s rich heritage and tourism potential.
This year’s pageant, themed “I Am My Culture,” places a strong emphasis on cultural preservation and sustainable tourism. Organizers stress that the initiative extends beyond the glamour of a beauty contest, playing a crucial role in fostering economic, social, and environmental transformation through cultural advocacy.
Speaking at the launch, Hon. Bahinduka Mugarra Martin, Minister of State for Wildlife and Antiquities, commended the event’s influence on national identity and tourism promotion. “This journey is more than a competition—it is a movement that amplifies Uganda’s cultural identity. We are committed to supporting initiatives that promote tourism and conservation,” he stated.

Historic Inclusion of Male Participants
For the first time in the event’s history, the 2025 edition will welcome male contestants, expanding the platform to include young men eager to champion conservation and tourism. “This is an opportunity for both young men and women to be ambassadors of change. We encourage all eligible Ugandans to take part,” the minister added.
The competition will traverse 12 regions across Uganda, including West Nile, Teso, Busoga, Buganda, Karamoja, Ankole, South Uganda, Fort Portal, Hoima, and Northern Uganda, in search of the next Miss Tourism Uganda Queen for the 2025-2026 term.
The journey will culminate in a grand finale on September 5, 2025, at the prestigious Kampala Serena Hotel, where the ultimate winner will be crowned. The crowned ambassador will represent Uganda on both local and international platforms, promoting the country’s tourism and cultural heritage.
With this exciting expansion and a strong focus on cultural advocacy, Miss Tourism Uganda 2025 promises to be a transformative edition, inspiring a new generation of tourism and conservation ambassadors.
