Uganda Airlines has launched direct flights between Entebbe and London, a move set to revolutionize travel between Uganda and the United Kingdom. The long-anticipated route eliminates layovers, offering passengers a seamless and more efficient travel experience while fostering stronger trade, tourism, and business links between the two nations.

At the official launch, Uganda Airlines CEO Ms. Bamuturaki Jenifer expressed her excitement over this groundbreaking achievement. “I am delighted to officially announce the launch of our direct flights to London, marking a major milestone in our growth journey. This route signifies the completion of our establishment phase and sets the foundation for long-term expansion,” she said. She emphasized the meticulous planning behind the new service, noting that the milestone coincides with Uganda Airlines’ fifth anniversary, making the achievement even more special.

The Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Katumba Wamala, confirmed that flights will commence on May 18, 2025. The introduction of the Entebbe-London Gatwick service removes the hassle of stopovers in cities such as Amsterdam, Doha, and Istanbul, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing convenience for passengers.
