Uganda Airlines has launched direct flights between Entebbe and London, a move set to revolutionize travel between Uganda and the United Kingdom. This route signifies the completion of our establishment phase and sets the foundation for long-term expansion,” she said. She emphasized the meticulous planning behind the new service, noting that the milestone coincides with Uganda Airlines’ fifth anniversary, making the achievement even more special.
The Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Katumba Wamala, confirmed that flights will commence on May 18, 2025. The introduction of the Entebbe-London Gatwick service removes the hassle of stopovers in cities such as Amsterdam, Doha, and Istanbul, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing convenience for passengers.
Aviation analysts and industry enthusiasts have praised this development as a game-changer for Uganda Airlines, solidifying its position as a competitive player in long-haul air travel. The airline will operate the route with its state-of-the-art Airbus A330-800neo, designed to offer passengers superior comfort and efficiency.
